Half the Fun is Getting There

So I noticed that the posts about my love life and marriage have gotten the most hits.
Is that all you people want from me?! The drama??!

Truly, answer the question. If that's what you want, that's what I will give you.

Two days of being married have been great!
With the weekend approaching, we can finally go off for a couple of days and have some time together. (He's had to work this week, so it's been a bummer being on usual routine.)

Today there has been no nothing going on. Except the part where I've been procrastinating on packing and roaming around the house waiting for prince charming to get home so we can goooooo!
( ugghhh saying stuff like that makes me desperately miss school. I feel useless! )

You know when you go on a vacation half the fun is the anticipation.

  •  You blow up your facebook with a countdown: 459 days till the bahamas!!
  • And you plan you packing strategically: OOO THIS TOP IS A MUST! AND THIS DRESS! OHH THIS WILL BE SO CUTE WITH THOSE SHOES!  And then the reality of sunburn sets in and you completely have to re-do your outfits. WHICH IS OK because you packed half the closet to "have options."
  • Then the car, plane, train, boat, zipline, ride etc.. You get in the vehicle  all packed ready to go. And for the first hour you are pumped! Got your snacks, your "road-trip playlist"..ect. BUT then after the first hour your butt is uncomfortable, your want real food (because for some reason traveling makes you ravenous), and if you don't stretch your legs you are gonna have cramps for the next three days.

Happy Summer Everybody!!!

Went to Chapel and We got Marrrrriiiiieeedddd

This post is mainly for my Facebook population, but also for the rest of the world that reads my story.

Yesterday (June 25 2013) I got married!

Just let THAT sink in.

I married my best friend and I couldn't possibly happier. (Well, if I didn't have to wait three days for the honeymoon I'd be somewhat happier.) We had a short and sweet ceremony at the church and then had the attendees back at our place for some food and.. video games. We mainly did this because we were living together already and we did want to right that wrong before God. We figured we're going to do it anyway, we might as well!

Saying that, we are still having that big ceremony/par-tay in October!

The ceremony yesterday was just what my pastor called the "I Do" portion. We said hopelessly romantic vows and sealed the deal. (too saucy a phrase?) It was short, but so sweet. I cried the entire time. I tried desperately to hold them back and the more I tried, the more they flowed.
In that place with Israel and our close guests, I felt God with us and I felt his blessing. I am overjoyed at  starting this new chapter in my life. It was perfect.
One of the happiest days of my life, and the best part is I get to do it twice!

candy crush

I AM ADDICTED TO CANDY CRUSH!!!!

This game has taken its evil little candy hands and wrapped them around my throat. I am so frustrated because I can NOT beat level 29!  The stupid "JELLY" is killing me!

I have wasted too much time playing this game and not getting anywhere. It's gotten to the point where I have two games going-one on facebook and one on my mp3 player.
As yet, spoiled in my hatred, I can not let it go. I MUST WIN!!!

And I don't feel like an idiot exposing my candy crush addiction because half of the world has fallen into its sugary claws! At least half my facebook friends and my family are.

Life Goes On

I have become so obsessed with youtube, facebook, and instagram.. oh and pinterest, that i have totally forgotten to write about my life. Which, in your case my be a good thing.

October is nipping at my heels and there is still so much to do for the marriage celebration! Decorations, flowers, hair, finding the right bra, shoes! In the mix of planning, praying, and trying to force myself to not drink another glass of coke, I am going through the growing pains of becoming the person I never expected to be at this point.
I am 20 years old, getting married, and I have a cat!! Yes, a cat, named Oliver. (He's a rescue and he is a nice cat, who recently got a bow tie and looks adorable!)
Panning out my own life is a struggle sometimes, trying to pan it out, plan, look into the future with somebody else requires more than writing out your feelings on the internet.  On one hand it's not so bad because my best friend will always be there with me, but on the other hand, it's dooming because you feel like if you go down, you are taking that other person with you.
I never thought I'd be here. Of course, we all can say that about some point in our lives. I feel like the decisions that I have made lately will take me on a course that I never dreamed of. Which is not bad. It seems scary and I'm scared of crashing to my death, but just before I hit the rocks, God picks me up again. I am trusting in him to make my life something beautiful.
To be honest, I have a fear of my life, my story being boring, pointless, but I pray everyday that that doesn't happen. Getting married is a huge milestone for anybody; but for me I had, at one time, a notion that it would hold me back, that my life would just stop and everything I wanted for me would never happen. But I have spent time and time again with God pouring my heart out, telling him my fears, asking for help, and I am ready to spend my life with Israel. We aren't perfect, but we aren't alone. All of the things I wanted for me I can have with him and together, we can experience so much more.

Oh, So You're In Love?

Let's just be real for a second.. just one second.

If you've been dating a week, you do not love that person. You like them a lot and have those intense stomach butterflies that make you wanna puke.
Trust me, I know what that's like. (I can testify to these things now!)
I know this is becoming a pretty common complaint, but it's driving me nuts how people on facebook are like: "i love you baby, ur my whole world. idk what id do w/o u. *insert date*"
Over the past couple of weeks, I've had to restrain myself from making snide comments because I didn't want to start a fight. But, trust me, I know I'm right. If you've been dating a less than a month and you're already claiming that person is "your world" you need help. and Jesus. He's your world.

When I first told Israel I loved him, I felt like I was going to puke. (of course this is also part of my personality, I don't just go around loving everybody) And let the record show it was like two months after we started dating. I didn't fall in love with him and confess it until like 3 or 4 months. And even then I was thinking I was rushing into things.

Being with Israel has been the first and longest relationship I've ever had and I'm not terribly ashamed to admit that because I don't have this horrid track record of guys who did me wrong. With that said, I don't know a lot about relationships from a personal experience, but I've witnessed a lot and seen enough lifetime movies to know what works and what doesn't work. Such as, overusing the L word.

And most of the time people (especially us young whippersnappers with raging hormones) mix up the L words Love and Lust. And that's another post for another day.

Dating a week= you do not love that person. You have intense butterflies and chances are you just like having sex with them.

Tuesday Morning

One of my favorite personal pastimes is sitting on the floor writing in my notebook. Obviously I'm not writing in my journal now, but I am sitting on the floor. I've been in my bed all morning and I decided a change of pace would be nice.
I woke up 45 mins before my alarm went off and it's only 9:07. It feels like it should be 12 by now!

So far, this morning, I have managed to take goofy pictures of myself, decided to skip class ( its the last week before finals and we are watching a video..), get on facebook, get on pintrest, workout (shocking! I know! I found an easy ab workout on pintrest and since I was feeling lazy decided to give it a go.), and now here I am; sitting on the floor, putting my thoughts out there in cyberspace, oh and listening to George Strait (Don't judge me!).

I know its been awhile, Thanksgiving has come and gone. I had a great break. The last couple of days, went by too fast though. Now that Thanksgiving is out of the way, we can focus on Christmas!!!!!!
Ok, I'm not that excited..

It's hard to believe that this semester is basically over. All semester I've been waiting for this, and now that its here, I feel like it snuck up on me. However, the weight of the world has been lifted off my shoulders. Yesterday I turned in my final research paper (for this semester). I know I'm speaking for a whole butt load of people when I say that I'll be glad when I get my gen ed credits out of the way and I can start on my Lit classes. After next semestre I should be able to start taking those.

Now that I have bored you to tears... It's now 9:21.
I almost feel motivated to clean or do something drastically productive. This is bad. Call the Preist!

Soapboxes and Pulpits

I DIDN'T VOTE!

I did, however, almost puke at all the political garbage on facebook. I had high hopes that after everything was said and done people would shut up and get off the soap box. But the results only made them superglue their feet to the soapboxes.

The pride and the push to make this country a better place that swells around election time, deflates shortly after the winner is announced. ( In my opinion shouldn't it have been obvious that he would get re-elected. I have this theory that Americans are collectively afraid of change, that's why nothing "changes.)

Any way.. enough of that..

Speaking of FB, I've seen people posting what their thankful for, I guess to get into the Thanksgiving spirit and remind themselves that life doesn't suck as much as we think it does. Last night when I was laying down to go to sleep I guess I felt God pulling on my heartstrings since I hadn't talked to him in a few days. I started thanking him for the things I have and he reminded me of a lot that I tend to take for granted. I am so thankful for an endless list of people, places, material things, and I owe it all to God. Last night I went to sleep with a smile on my face and it felt good to know that he's there's always taking care of me, despite everything I put im through.

There are several current situations in my life right now that have shown me just how great is love is. And as humans I don't think we can fully grasp just how wonderful it is. That said, I've also seen that some people don't just don't "get it."

Anyway..
*steps off pulpit*

Have a great Friday!!!

Facebook me, maybe?

Facebook is boring me.
Wouldn't it be cool if super-heros (or other fictional characters of your choice) had Facebook's?

Just picture it:

Captain America
I just saved the world with my shield and amazing looks.

Or you know, something cool like that... Anything has to be better than duck faces, half naked hoes, and everybody and there momma making some kind of post about homosexuality. (I thought that ship has sailed, but obviously not.)
I have twitter and, to me, you're less likely to lose 1000  brain cells in the first 5 minutes of indulging in social networking.
Of course now there's instagram (which I don't have) and pintrest ( I have that!) AND stumbleupon (also have) to keep us occupied when we feel our brain cells oozing from FB.

Social Networking sites have taken over the world. People are being warned now to be careful about what they put on there, esp FB, becaue employers are looking you up and if they see stuff they don't like- YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK.

I don't have time to write more.. till the 'morrow!

Super-Short Love Story

It's been a few days, so today seemed like a good day to blog.

Weekends are supposed to be the time when you relax and enjoy yourself. Besides New Years', it's the most counted down date known to man.
For me, I wouldn't describe this past weekend as relaxing or enjoyable, bittersweet, maybe.
Friday "some stuff went down" ( you know when people say that Jerry Springer issh is about to happen!).
I won't go into detail about said "stuff", just know it was a sticky situation among friends (money was involved, hence STICKY).
It was one of those situations where you can

A: go off the deep end and ruin relationships that have been the salt to your pepper
or
B: swallow your pride, be responsible, and learn from it

I chose B.
I need the salt to my pepper, and I like to think of myself as a reasonable person... I also hate when people turn things into Jerry Springer Episodes. I may not be the most reasonable person on the planet, but I try to be mature. Which is more than I can say for the guests of Jerry Springer.

After "the stuff" went down..  the genre of my weekend went from trashy reality t.v to a full out romantic drama full length feature presentation.

SAY WHAT?

For the past two months I have been harboring a secret relationship. (Some of you may already know about it, but were sworn to secrecy) I was crucial that we kept it on the down low ( I'll explain why later). WE GOT CAUGHT!

In Jan or Feb I met this guy, who just so happened to by my best friend's cousin. ( talk about keeping it in the family.) At first the thought of anything between us never crossed my mind. There's a lot that goes along with that.
And thinking about it now, it may take two or five post ( from my point of view) to tell you the whole story.
So for now I'll give you the super-short version..

Girl meets Boy.
Friendship blossoms.
Confessions of super fat eight grade crush.
Due to religious differences, agonizing debate on weather to "give this a try".
Decide to "give it a try"!! However, must keep it a secret!
Awkward confessions of Love.
Comfortable confessions of Love.
Confessions of "In Love".
Torrid Love affair caught by hottie boyfriend's family.
Girl feels like she is going to be sick.
Boy, calmly, takes care of it.
Change of FB relationship status!!

You think that's a lot? Wait for the full length feature post.
If you go to my FB, you will see who he is.
I can't describe how wonderful he is. Honestly, if you saw how sappy I might get, you might think I've lost my mind. Hell sometimes when I analyze this whole thing, I feel like I've lost my mind.

But that's ok..

Captain America Saves the Timeline!

I don't know if I should start with confessing my love for Captain America or if I should express how disgusted FB has made me lately.

Let's start with the captain. That's more fun!
I have friends that are really (really) into the superhero thing. And I, having never seen any of them ( except spiderman. does that count?), was encouraged ( by encouraged, I mean forced. kidding. ) to watch them. Living under the style of, GO Big or Go Home, I watched 3...ok 2 and a half in one day. And in case you didn't know. Superhero movies are longer than regular hero movies. Hence the SUPER.
Yesterday I started off my day watching Captain America ( my favorite so far.) and later that evening I saw Thor, and the first half of Iron Man.
The reason I like Captain American the best is because it's the story of an underdog! And you know me, Imma sucka for an outcast ;) The movie had a little bit of everything, which I also enjoyed. ( and by everything I mean Chris Evans. Hello! hehe. kidding.. well sorta kidding) Morals, action, romance, comedy, wit, charm, bad guys, and Nazi. EVERYTHING!
If you haven't seen it, I encourage you to watch it.
Thor was good. The ending left me displeased. HE HAS TO GET THE GIRL! As a girl, I feel that it is my reward if I have to sit through a long ass war movie, there better be a romantic kiss at the end.
Just saying.

Now that you are aware of how awesome CA is... you're wondering, why is she upset with FB?
Well as we all know, or if you live in the state of NC you know, that they passed the marriage amendment. I personally can't tell you how I feel about this because, honestly, I'm torn by it. But there are people who have taken sides and ruthlessly throw down on FB! And if it wasn't bad before, the amendment passed, and the people who are against it are freaking out even more. But honestly, if you think about it, NC IS in the Bible Belt.. so the majority rules when you think about it this way. It's a sticky situation any way you look at it. All I'm saying is keep it off FB.

love according to webster

According to Webster... LOVE has several meanings.

the first three include:
: strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties
b :attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers
c : affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interest

So when we say we love our mom, it's because we have personal ties with her.
When we say we love Ryan Gosling, it's because we have a sexual desire for him.
And when we say we love.. a significant other it's because we have affections based on admiration and common interest.

Why is she talking about this? I'm glad you asked!
I was just pondering the word. I feel as if people use the word to loosely nowadays, and when I use it I don't want to abuse the power it once held. ( man, that was deep!) But I'm serious. (as a heat attack)
I've seen people, we've all seen people, on FB for instance, that are in a "relationship" with somebody for two days and they are dropping L bombs. And not to mention it's always spelled incorrectly.

i.e- bby i luv u. u tha best thang in mu lif and i wud die w/o u! i luv u soooooooooooooooo much!!! :) abc+def 4eva!!!!!

Give me a break.. and spell check! No. You do not LOVE that person. Chances are you are sleeping with that person and you LOVE having sex with them, but them as person, you do not LOVE.
However, I guess it's safe to say that in a "good relationship" the second two go hand in hand. But that's another battle, for another day.

I have a strong affection for the taste of pineapples (which sounds really weird now that I've typed it), therefore, I LOVE pineapples.
My mother held me in her womb for 9 months and we have a personal tie, therefore, I LOVE her.
And well... when the last LOVE comes to pass, we will blurt that on the internet as well ;)

I guess the point of this was to educate you on Webster's first three definitions of love.. and how we shouldn't abuse the L word. Tell me, what are things you LOVE.. or just simply have a strong sexual desire for? ;)

12:08 productivity

I'm so sleepy.
I have to earthly idea why I'm on here.
I have nothing of interest to say at 12:08 am. I have class in like 8 hours... I need to try to attempt to get some beauty sleep.
Of course I don't think that all the hours in the day would help...
(this is the part where you comment and say, omg Emily, you are soooo beautiful. :))
Sleep may not help, but a good face wash would. I have been broke out for the past few days. Not sure why I'm sharing that with you, I guess I have nothing else worthwhile to talk about.
Story of my life: breakouts
Is it me, or is this the beginning of an acne commercial?

On monday I updated my twitter/FB saying that I had several things I wanted to get done this week: laundry, clean my fish bowl, call my grandmother, catch up on school work.. and so on.
Well I have completed two of those things!! Please hold your applause.
I called/visited my grandmaw on Monday, and today I cleaned the fishbowl.
Tomorrow I plan to tackle the ever-growing beast of school work. I still have clean underwear so I can probably hold off on laundry for a few more days ;)

Yay for productivity!!

facebook funnies

that's why i haven't posted in a while. i have had nothing nice to say.
so just enjoy some of these hilarious pictures i stole from facebook:

emotional uproar of prayers

i just killed my dad.
sike!
i'm trying my hand at writing out this idea in my head again and i decided the dad should be dead, you know tie in some emotional uproar.
and no, that doesn't mean i subconsciously want my dad dead. cause i know you were so thinking that.

this writing thing is actually pretty fun. (duh) when you can come up with words you like. and nothing is permanent. i knew that but, i'm learning it now.

facebook is going to rot my brain and cause me to be one of the dumbest people in the world.
i start school in two weeks, that can't happen!
speaking of school, i'm excited and anticipating what it holds for me this year. its going to be way different.

i'm sleepy.
go to bed.
i will eventually.

i got the week off officially for the mission trip! oh how i am rejoicing. i'm so happy :)
i work tomorrow, and sunday then bam! no work til the next sunday. the only sucky part about that is i virtually loose a week of pay, but its going to be worth it:
"never underestimate my Jesus"
at training for said trip we have been doing a lot of praying.. which has been amazing. it motivates me to want to prayer more on my own like that. instead of just quick prayers here and there.

me+facebook post = tears

ok so.. as i have already mentioned a lot.. Graduation is today. and out of the numerous cards and gifts and congratulations i have not been hit emotionally at all. even the thought of not seeing some of my friends have not tugged at my heartstrings.. ( geez i sound like the grinch)
well my sister posted this long post on my facebook wall and i read it and half-way through i was like a fountain. it was so sweet and touching. and coming from her it means the world to me :) i love her so much. i really don't like crying, but then again who does? and i don't have water proof mascara.. so i'd rather not cry tonight.. but i feel as if it may happen. curse these girl emotions.
but enough on this! i just wanted to inform you that yes, i have feelings and i'm super duper excited about tonight!
for now i have to go take a shower.. straighten my hair and try to make a dent in packing for beach grad!! :D
2011 !!

this week in a rant

today this week has been one huge batch of long suffering. and to top if off i feel completely unaccomplished!
i have dress rehearsal on Sunday and I'm freaking out that my white dress may be see through! plus this whole week i have been screwing up my lines! I'm no where near being done with my psych class (its an online course), i still have fees i owe the freaking school, that piece i need for my car has not been bought, i need a freaking bra for my prom dress and! my room is a disaster!
and and! there is all this drama at school that has caused me to be dramatical because I'm not in it. let me try to explain: there is a girl ( as always) well two or three girls really who are having boy issues ( the kind of things you talk about with other girl friends!!) and they all talk about it with each other, excluding me! what gets me is the fact that they have these conversations together while I'm present. I mean really? you are going to bring up all this baby momma drama and talk about it IN FRONT OF MY FACE and not let me in. that's cool. because i already know anyways. I READ FACEBOOK! seriously though, its irritating! if you don't wanna talk to me about that, that's fine. chances are i don't wanna hear but, I'd like to be given the option of you talking my ear off.
if this continues over to Monday i may be scared for life. that on top of everything else has gotten me so revved up. my blood pressure is soaring!

OK. i think that's enough for now..
any who.. prom is this weekend. yay! ( with mild sarcasm) I'm excited but at the same time not totally thrilled.
ha! this is funny.. today i took a friend home from school and on the subject of prom the conversation went something like this:
friend: what are you doing after prom?
me: hopefully getting plastered.
friend( with scared face): that's sad.
me(laughing and half lying): I'm joking!
friend: no your not. that makes me sad.
I am not going to push the issue on this, however, I will say.. don't come at me with the whole " you don't need drugs and alcohol to be cool" crap. first off I don't do drugs, second, duh! i know that, and third don't act like your so innocent. I know what you did last summer. muhaha!

my mom is calling..
time to go get a bra!

not much to say because this is pretty much a trial post.. i hooked bloglovin up to facebook ( trying to generate more traffic) so i wanna see how it all works out.
